Apply Liberally

So happy am I about this small glimmer of hope that I just read on the New York Times web-page that I decided to blog about it. Polls are polls, and you can only take so much away from them, but in an increasingly hopeless world, people like me need hope in polls that show that the youth of America are finally smartening up. The articles url will be posted at the end of this blog, because I can't figure out to outfit this page with a beautifully stylish link that says something like "Glimmer of Hope - America's youth are using their heads", but on second thought, that is neither beautiful nor stylish, but I digress. Anyway, it basically says that Liberal thought is more popular, albeit by an incredibly small margin, than Conservatism. Rejoice!!! The intellectual coup of America's higher education system must be working, and I like to think that is a good thing. Although blind adherence to any one ideology is inherently evil, Liberal thought in my opinion isn't so dangerous since it can encompass so many different ideas, perhaps even Conservative thought? Conservatism certainly can't absorb liberal thought because the ideology itself is naturally restrictive, and requires strict obedience, aka no free thought which is conflicting. I'm not strictly a "liberal" myself but I none the less see a population moving toward the left as in incredibly good thing. I associate liberal with free thought, with questions, and challenging assumptions, and those my friends are all imperative to the health and vigor of the American nation and humanity at large. So enjoy the article. http://www.nytimes.com/2007/06/26/washington/27cnd-poll.html?ex=1340596800&en=bfdc2d073ae6de01&ei=5124&partner=permalink&exprod=permalink

You speak of the liberal left. In other words, liberalism that is wishing for the government to dips its hands into the economy and change things.

There is a 4-point political spectrum. First, there is liberalism and conservatism. Liberalism in this case means that government changes society and that people must complain to the government in order to get laws for their benefit. Conservatism means that government does not change society. It is capitalist because capitalism believes that people should change society. The only reason conservatives want laws are for protecting people from aggression and fraud. Now it's time for motive. There is democratic and aristocratic. Knowing aristocratic, you can guess what democratic means. Aristocratic conservatives are the boss types that anarchists tend to hate. I don't mind a boss-type but a business can be run by the workers with a good advisor, what the boss-type's job should be, but without the boss. So conservatism puts society in the hands of businesses. How businesses are run is either aristocratic or democratic. A liberal government that changes society a lot is open to corruption, that is by aristocrats. If it was organized and people gave their consent, which in this country they are forced anyways, then I'd visit for maybe 5 years and see what it's like. If they were organized and actually knew how to run the economy. Nope. Never the case. So society in the hands of the state is a bad thing. having society in the hands of business gets quick, concise, efficient, and overall beneficial change whenever needed. Liberal government becomes over complicated, non-efficient, and sometimes tyrannical.

A centrist government is this, picture a square with four quadrants. Conservatism on bottom, liberalism on top, democratic on the left, and aristocratic on the right. Put a point at conservatism, anarchy. Total freedom until there starts to be some organization. Most people would be conservative democratic in this case because they want to mind their own business(capitalism! lol). Aristocratic anarchism is rule by a gang. Move the point you had earlier upwards. What we are trying to get is a point where aristocrats and democrats have equal share in society and this share is limited because you can't commit force or fraud. At the middle is where you get equal share. You get enough liberty and enough protection of your rights, the freedom to rule solely over a business if you want, and the freedom to start a democratic business. That's really what centrism is according to the 4-point political spectrm.

I don't think liberalism is a good way to go. Democracy sure is a good way, aristocracy has caused many problems when they took over our liberal, non-capitalist government. So they're not really conservative. Aristocratic people are control-freaks. They are the highly religious, 'traditional' people, crazy christians, etc. That's why we call it religious right(aristocratic), not religious conservatism. Conservatives, as in anarchists and objectivists, tend to be atheist and have more respect for people. Democratic liberals have a good intention but a bad way of doing things. At least allow me to take my property out of government jurisdiction when you start trying to take it away from me lol.

That's just my opinion on this stuff. I think people have become misinformed because we use the 2-point spectrum.
